Intro and job overview:

Precisely’s Summer Internship Program is a paid, part-time opportunity for undergraduate students actively enrolled in university. This is an 10-week program that begins June 9th and ends on August 15th. This opportunity is 100% remote and you must be located in the United States during the summer internship. The Software Engineering Intern will work closely with the R&D team.

The Software Engineering Intern will focus on enhancing our UI Design System and UX improvements for our Data Integrity Suite. This project involves tackling our backlog of style issues and reducing technical debt by implementing consistent, user-centric design changes. You'll work on real product enhancements in low-risk areas, focusing on visual and interaction design, to significantly improve the user experience and product coherence. This role offers a unique opportunity to make tangible impacts on our software while gaining hands-on experience in a professional design environment.

Responsibilities and duties: 

  • Updated UI Design System: A comprehensive overhaul or update of our existing design system components to ensure consistency across all products
  • UX Improvements: Implementation of user-focused enhancements in the data integrity suite, focusing on usability, accessibility, and performance
  • Documentation: Detailed guidelines and documentation for the new styles and design practices to assist future development
  • Prototype and Testing: Develop prototypes for new UI elements and conduct usability testing to validate changes

Requirements and qualifications: 

  • Precisely's internship program is designed for rising junior and senior undergraduate students graduating after August 2025.
  • We prefer candidates located in Central Standard Time zone, but all time zones are welcome to apply
  • Ability to develop skills in modern Front-End engineering, DevOps engineering, git, pipelines, automated tests, and enterprise-level tools and engineering.
  • Achieve key deliverables within the project timeline.
  • Work effectively with developers, product managers, and other designers.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage time, and understand the project lifecycle from conception to deployment.
  • Possess a basic understanding of Front-end Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to communicate effectively with developers.
  • Gather and interpret user data to inform design decisions.
  • Demonstrate creative and analytical thinking to tackle design challenges.
